Half time at the Mercedes-Benz Windsurf World Cup in Sylt

The official stop of the PWA World Tour, the Mercedes-Benz Windsurf World Cup, slowly comes to its most exciting, final phase. Over 150 athletes from around the globe have already been able to present their technique on the beach of Sylt.
Freestylers already faced four meter high waves and powerful winds while showcasing some very impressive tricks and jumps.
As expected, the event turned out to be an amazing platform for all the watersports fans to meet fellow enthusiast, put their hands on the newest and coolest windsurfing gear and most importantly enjoy watching the competitors.
First days of the event saw the mens single eliminations begin. After day two, Victor Fernandes scored the highest points followed by the Marcilio Browne who landed on the second position.
Regardless of his last years training accident resulting in a serious knee injury, the 23-year-old windsurf ace Philip Köster won the championship in the category wave for the fourth time.
Organisers and local vendors provided for a very interesting range of foods and delicious snack available to buy in the area. Moreover, after a long day spent on the beach, competitors as well as the viewers seem to be really enjoying the afternoons in the event tents.
